Online Photography Exhibition for Trainees

Creative Writing Workshops

The Dorset GP Centre is running two Workshops for GPs working in Dorset on Sat 11th March and Sat 25th March, 10.15am – 12.30pm at the Russell Cotes Museum in Bournemouth. The workshops are being led by Emma Scattergood – professional writer and senior lecturer in journalism at Bournemouth University. Please see this flyer and book your place here.

Educational Supervision for ST2s in hospital posts

This is a reminder that if you have been allocated an ST3 trainee, you are also responsible for that trainee’s educational supervision whilst they are in any preceding ST2 hospital post. The trainee’s name will appear on your ePortfolio at the start of their hospital post.

The trainee is advised to make contact with you before their hospital post begins. Please ensure you arrange to meet and/or contact the trainee before or early on in their hospital post.

AKT exams – January and April 2017

If you are planning to sit the AKT in January or April 2017, please let Rachel know as she is collating names to request central funding for you to access the Fourteen Fish online AKT support package. This will be a 3 month membership and can only be offered to each trainee once, so only apply if you are taking your AKT in January or April. This does not affect your eligibility for funding of the Wessex RCGP courses.

WGPET Membership for ST3s

Biannual Trainers Meeting – 5th April 2017

The next Trainers Meeting will be taking place on 5th April at the Executive Business Centre, Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth and is being organised by the West Dorset Trainer Group. Dr. Helen Stokes-Lampard RCGP Chair will be speaking at this event. Further details to follow.

National IDT – Eligibility Change

Doctors wishing to move between English regions will now be eligible to apply with an ARCP Outcome 2 or 3, provided they can also submit a letter of support from their Postgraduate Dean. For more information, please visit the website.

Trainees starting in GP in Feb 2017

Trainees starting in GP in Feb 2017 will not need to complete and submit an application form (NPL1) or undertake a face to face identity check. For more information, please contact your HEE Local Office. PAY1 forms are to be completed and returned with appropriate documents by Friday 6th January. For all PAY1 queries contact Claire Elwick and for National Performers List queries contact Fenella Williams.
