Dorset GP Creative Writing Competition We are looking for short stories or poems, in any style of genre (fantasy, romance, literary science or children’s fiction). All we ask is that they reflect the experience of a GP (or trainee GP). Short story: up to 3000 words; poetry: up to 42 lines. Winning entry – £100. Deadline – 1st June 2017. Please submit your entry as a Word document to gptrainers@bournemouth.ac.uk with ‘Creative Writing Competition’ and your name in the subject of the email (please do not include your name on the Word document as the judging process will be anonymous. Retainer Scheme Reimbursement Each practice employing a Retainer will be able to claim an allowance relating to the number of sessions for which their retained doctor is engaged. chaussures timberland soldes Where a practice already employs a Retainer or commences employment between 1st July 2016 and 31st March 2017, the employing practice can now claim a payment of £76.92. asics whizzer This allowance will be paid for all sessions including sick leave, annual leave and educational leave where the Retainer is being paid by the practice. ST3 Free Membership to WGPET The Wessex GP Educational Trust is a charity formed in 1990 to provide funding for CPD educational events run by Health Education England Wessex (HEEW). The Executive Committee of the Trust is keen to support GP trainees and newly qualified GPs and is now offering currently ST3s free access to all CPD events run by HEEW and organised by local patch offices. See Educational and Clinical Supervisors on e-LfH for further details. NHS GP Health Service NHS England has launched a new NHS GP Health Service. Further details here. Over the Wall Camps for seriously ill children Over the Wall is a UK charity that provides residential camps for children with serious illnesses, and their siblings in Scotland, the Midlands and Dorset. To do this, they rely on doctors (ST2 and above in Paediatrics, GP or A&E with paediatric experience) to give up a week of their time, skills and experience and join their ‘Beach Patrol‘ (medical team). Changes to the ESR * The trainee is now only required to write 3 actions plans (linked to competencies) which can later be edited by the Educational Supervisor (ES). The ES can also add 2 further action plans. * If a trainee has not written any PDP entries within the review period, they will need to propose at least one PDP in order to complete their self rating. bottes timberland The ES will no longer move their action plans into the trainee’s PDP, instead the ES can edit the trainee’s PDP and make it SMART if required. * After the ES has submitted the review, it will be visible by all those who have access to the trainee’s ePortfolio. The trainee will no longer need to accept it for it to be visible, instead the trainee is asked if they agree with the ESR and if not, a comments box appears for them to state why they disagree.
