Occupational Health Assessments
Before starting a 3 year GP training programme, each GP trainee must have an occupational health assessment. If a trainee starts as an ST1 in a hospital post, then this is usually done automatically. ST1s starting in a General Practice slot also need occupational health clearance by the Hospital Trust. This will be performed by the hospital trust of the trainee’s rotation. If the trainee is on a Bournemouth rotation for example, then Royal Bournemouth Hospital Occupational health Department will perform the assessment. If trainees have not received the paperwork in relation to having an occupational health assessment prior to starting their rotation, then please check with the GP Centre.
