Avon Valley is a friendly, well motivated GP group. We are spread across the whole of Dorset from Poole to Boscombe to Christchurch and up to Ringwood and Verwood. We have a mix of highly experienced and younger trainers. We meet on a regular basis where we support each other through our training. For further information, please contact: Dr Mufeed Ni’Man
We are a friendly group of new and experienced trainers. We usually meet four times year at Bournemouth University, two meetings of which directly follow the Biannual Trainers Meeting. We are enthusiastic and try to embrace changes in the training program as they arise and aim to provide support to new and old trainers alike! For further information, please contact: Dr Jo Harvey
The North Dorset Trainer Group usually meets on the second Monday of the month (excluding July/August) at 7:30pm. For further information, please contact : Dr Nick Berry
We are a group of trainers based in and around the Poole Area with informal meetings every other month, invariably on Thursday lunchtime. These sometimes stretch into the early afternoon but we try to finish in time for members to return to their Practice to undertake an afternoon surgery. The agenda is usually decided 1-3 meetings in advance but is often beefed out with topical issues that we feel should be addressed, and outside speakers are often invited. In addition to the more formal role, the group is intended to function as a mutually supportive forum for trainers. Problems and issues with current trainees can be confidentially aired and practical knowledge/ experience is shared amongst members.
The group also serves as a useful conduit for information being passed from both Bournemouth University GP Centre and the Deanery. New members are always welcome. For further information, please contact: Dr Ben Todd
We are a small group of trainers formed initially by Purbeck trainers but now most of us are based around Poole. We meet 4 times a year, two of the meetings take place in the afternoon with a formal agenda. Recently we did joint COTs and CBDs. The other 2 meetings are informal discussions at an evening meal. We feel that the smaller group allows individual members to be more involved at meetings to mutually benefit us as trainers. We welcome any new trainers who are interested in joining us. For further information, please contact: Dr Sue Nixon
We are a friendly group currently comprising 14 members with a range of experience, providing informal peer support and discussing a variety of topics with a planned agenda set in September.
We meet on Monday evenings, 8 times a year, in West Dorset, rotating between members’ surgeries.
